"If you take a shower before you have sex, are you less likely to get pregnant?" asks a teen via a text message service sponsored by the Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention Campaign of North Carolina (APPCNC). She is answered by an online counselor who provides information that is prohibited by some public schools.

The texting service, covered in a story by the New York Times, makes it clear that counselors of such programs promote high-risk hormonal birth control as well as abortion, without the counselor having knowledge of the young woman's medical history, a necessary part of any quality health care counseling.
